Two young men are taking on a skydiving challenge to support families in crisis.

Tommy Ash and Joshua Felton, both 21, will be doing their skydive from 15,000 feet above and reaching speeds of 120 miles per hour.

They decided to take on the challenge to raise money for family-supporting charity Home-Start Watford & Three Rivers.

Tommy said: “This is something I have always wanted to do, and I know families have a hard time during the pandemic, we want to make sure they get the support they need.”

Home-Start is a charity which supports families in Watford, Three Rivers, and Hertsmere who are dealing with mental and physical health issues, facing financial hardship and disadvantage.

The charity trains volunteers with parenting experience to offer practical and emotional help and friendship to families for a couple hours weekly.

It also offer counselling services and family group activities.

Easing of lockdown restrictions in the last few months have allowed the charity to re-start and expand its activities, such as their counselling service and a playgroup in South Oxhey.

CEO Emma Power said: “Within three weeks of the group opening, we were at full capacity, showing just how vital these services are.”
