Much of the London Underground will be shut all day today as workers on the underground begin their first of two strikes this week.
The strikes are expected to create "severe disruption across all Tube lines" as commuters and travellers struggle to get across the capital.

Workers are being encouraged to work from home today if possible by Transport for London to avoid the disruption.
But for those that can not work from home they can use alternative travel means, but they are expected to be busier than usual.
How to avoid the Underground disruption:
Buses will all be running as normal but with roads likely to be busy they could be some delays to times, meaning you may want to give yourself more time for your journey.
To get the latest and most up-to-date bus maps and schedule you can use the TfL website or app.
If you don't fancy boarding the bus you can drive yourself but be aware that you will have to pay the ULEZ charge.

You can cycle or walk to your destination today, just don't forget to bring some good walking shoes.

With many lines shut, TfL is expecting that the three open lines (DLR, TfL Ral, Tram) will also be severely affected.
