PALACE boss Patrick Vieira will not face police charges after a clash with a supporter at Goodison Park after police confirmed on Monday that no formal complaint has been filed.

Toffees supported invaded the pitch after striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored a dramatic 85th-minute winner over Palace to keep the club in the Premier League.

The goal was the fifth of the match and Everton's third after they had gone 2-0 down to Palace.

During the commotion, Vieira was confronted by an Everton fan as he was heading towards the dressing rooms after the final whistle.

The fan appeared to provoke Vieira. The manager then kicked the fan to the ground and had to be led away by other supporters.

Merseyside Police said in a statement: "We worked with Everton FC to gather all available CCTV footage and spoke to witnesses.

"Officers have spoken to both men involved and the opportunity to make a formal complaint or support a prosecution was declined."
