Burglars broke into the home of a 91-year-old woman before making off with jewellery and cash.

Herts Police released images of the stolen items this morning (March 5) following the raid in Redheath Close near Leavesden. It happened between Monday, February 19, and the following Sunday.

Thieves damaged a window to get inside before nabbing several gold necklaces and rings, as well as around £100 cash.

PC Georgia Boyle, who is investigating, urged anyone who recognises the items to contact her by emailing  georgia.boyle@herts.police.uk.

It comes as another Watford home was also targeted by burglars on Friday, February 23, during which the property in Wilmington Close was ransacked.

Between 8pm and 11pm shoes worth £350 were taken and cash disappeared from the kitchen.

There was also an attempted burglary in nearby Rosslyn Road the same day, at around 12.45am. The victim in her 20s was inside the flat when she heard the door handle being turned three or four times before the suspects fled.

Information on the Redheath Close break-in can also be reported to police via their website, or by calling non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 41/16230/24.
