A PUB in Tottenham was destroyed by a fire early this morning that its landlord had to be rescued from.

The blaze at The Antwerp Arms in Church Road at around 12.30am – that took 20 firefighters more than seven hours to put out – destroyed the ground floor of the building and parts of the first floor.

The landlord of the pub was rescued from the first-floor balcony of the bar and taken to hospital by paramedics.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
