Former English football manager Harry Redknapp was "shut down" multiple times during his appearance on BBC's hit show The Wheel.

The 74-year old ex-player appeared on the gameshow as a celebrity expert.

Redknapp had been drafted in to help the contestants answer trivia questions from their area of expertise for a chance at winning the cash prize.

The former midfielder completed the lineup of Michael McIntyre's gameshow, alongside maths legend Carol Vorderman, ex Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, and chef Andi Oliver.

The 12th episode of the series also included Tom Read Wilson, Angela Scanlon and Chunkz.

The football legend unsurprisingly chose football managers as his celebrity expert category.

But fans are all saying the same thing about the TV host, flooding social media to comment on how the former manager had been "shut down" on almost every other round.

There is a unique twist on The Wheel which involves one of the celebrities being blocked from helping the contestant on one of the category rounds.

The contestant has to pick one of the celebrities who are most likely to be able to help get the correct answer on that subject.

But Mr Redknapp was "shut down" on not just one category but almost every subject throughout the show from words and social media to festivals and food

One user took to Twitter to say: "Strongest expert: Nick Middle expert: Carol Weakest expert: Harry."

While another viewer expressed pity for him, writing: "Poor auld Harry Redknapp. He’s spent more time in red than @LFC #thewheel."

The Wheel airs on BBC One on Saturdays at 8.30 pm.
