AN Irish music festival in Finsbury Park has been extended for another day due to popular demand.

Van Morrison has been announced as the headline act for the second day of the London Feis festival, a celebration of 21 years of Irish music.

Bob Dylan has already been signed up to headline the first day, on Saturday, June 18, and the organisers have booked Sunday, June 19 as well after positive ticket sales.

Festival boss Vince Power started the movement with the Fleadh festivals in Finsbury Park between 1990 and 2004, and London Feis is the successor, continuing the Irish theme but appealing to a more international crowd.

Mr Power said: “Because of the popularity of the first day and the number of bands wanting to play, we have had to extend the festival to a second day.

“I am delighted to confirm Van Morrison to headline the second night and this is shaping to be a great celebration.”
