Justin Edinburgh hopes a big crowd will inspire Leyton Orient to return to winning ways on home turf when they face Hartlepool United on Saturday.

O’s fans are expected to flock to the Breyer Group Stadium in their numbers to cheer on Edinburgh’s side, with home areas currently sold out after many took advantage of Orient’s ‘Football for a Fiver’ initiative, which saw tickets priced at just £5 for this weekend’s game.

The East London side have been well supported on home turf this campaign, with attendances breaching the 5,500 mark for the O’s matches against Barnet as well as Sutton United last month.

Supporters will be hoping for better fortunes this time around, as Orient were condemned to their first defeat of the season last time out at Brisbane Road, with Jonah Ayunga’s 48th minute strike securing Sutton a 1-0 win.

Edinburgh, therefore, believes the strong home support will be a massive aid to his side, as they look to kick-start another unbeaten run.

Asked whether he was anticipating a big crowd this weekend, Edinburgh said: “I’d like to think so. Our fans here today travelled in great numbers. Our last home game, we had a disappointing result. So, we hope that people come again, get behind us and support us in numbers.

“We want to win every game. We can’t expect to win that but it will be good to get back to home and we’ll try and get a good result.”
