Barnet have signed former Watford goalkeeper Scott Loach.

The ex-Hartlepool United stopper is Darren Currie’s first summer arrival and will move to the Hive on July 1.

Currie told the Bees website: “Really pleased to get it done and get him over the line. He had one or two options in the league but thankfully he’s chosen us.

“We’ve had a number of conversations over recent weeks and he feels this is the right place for him to play.

“He comes in with a wealth of experience, he’s a good size and brings one or two things that I felt we needed in terms of how we organise the back four.”

The 31-year-old, who made his Hornets debut in August 2006, made more than 160 appearance for the Vicarage Road club before moving to Ipswich Town in July 2012.

He went on to join Rotherham United, having loan spells at Bury, Peterborough United and Yeovil Town, moved to York City and then joined Hartlepool in June 2017 where he has been a league ever-present in the two seasons since.
