Ezequiel Schelotto is desperate to get in the action.

But Albion will be cautious with the right-back as he recovers from knee surgery.

Head coach Graham Potter said it is “too soon” for Schelotto to be back on the pitch.

That would appear to rule him out of game time with the under-23s when they host Everton at the Amex tonight (7pm).

Schelotto is keen to prove what he can do after falling out of favour with Chris Hughton.

Potter said: “He has had a long-term injury, an ACL, and he has worked so well to get back so quickly.

“He is training with the group but it is too soon for him to be on the pitch.

“You can see his qualities.

“You can see what he gives - energy and obviously some competition for Martin (Montoya) down that right side.

“At the moment he is desperate to play but we need to keep holding him back and keep building his training load up but he is doing really well.”
