LUCA Narraway has started the new karting season with a bang.

The seven-year-old from Appleton has won two prestigious races, the British Kartin Championship Invitational at Rowrah Kart Track in Cumbria and the first round in the Iame Bambino class of the Superone Championship at Clay Pigeon Raceway in Dorchester.

Warrington Guardian:

Luca, a student at Cobbs Infant School, won from a fifth place start in the Invitational and an eighth place start in round one of Superone, the top national championship in which the likes of Lewis Hamilton, George Russell and Lando Norris developed their careers.

Both exciting events featured over 20 drivers from around the UK.

Luca managed to win the Superone final after working his way through the field and taking the flag by three tenths of a second.

This puts him in a great position to fight for the championship, with the final rounds taking place at Wilton Mill in Daventry and Shennington in Banbury.

Warrington Guardian:

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the rounds have been limited to five race days between July and the end of August.

The restrictions on karting mean that track time is limited but Luca uses a state-of-the-art simulator at home where he can drive the same type of kart at the kart tracks that he competes in.

He managed over 1000 practice laps before the Clay Pigeon round.

Luca is also competing in the Ultimate Karting Championship starting at Wilton Mill in August then Llandow and GYG in Wales.
