Thousands of football fans filled the streets of Tottenham on Friday as Spurs celebrated their UEFA Europa League victory with an open-top bus parade.
The parade began at 5.30pm, starting at The Broadway in Fore Street, Edmonton Green, and wound its way past Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before finishing near Sainsbury’s in Northumberland Park.
Hundreds of thousands of supporters lined the route, waving flags, chanting, and even climbing onto buildings and bus stops to get the best view of the team and trophy.
Crowds gathered hours before the parade, with a staging area set up outside the stadium on Paxton Terrace.
A DJ, live music, and a Q&A with club legends kept fans entertained as anticipation built.
Many fans were seen celebrating in creative ways, from painting their nails in club colours to waving flags from balconies.
Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min shared his emotions from the bus, and said: "I will never forget this moment."
"The last two days have just gone so fast."
Describing the feeling after winning, Son said there was "a lot of joy" and called it "incredible".
He continued: "I dreamed of this moment and it finally happened.
"I'm so glad I did it here, I did it with a Spurs shirt."
The parade marked Tottenham’s first major trophy since 2008, following their 1-0 win over Manchester United in Bilbao, secured by a first-half goal from Brennan Johnson.
An estimated 150,000 fans were expected to swarm on areas around Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the parade, but it is reported that numbers exceeded that figure.
After the open-top bus made its way through the fans, the Tottenham Hotspur squad made their way onto the stage where the trophy was lifted in front of the fans and celebrations continued.
The event was carefully planned in co-ordination with councils in the area, emergency services, and transport partners.
Significant road closures were in place from 11am, causing heavy traffic and delays, especially after a crash on the A406 North Circular in Walthamstow.
Residents and commuters were advised to plan ahead, as rail stations and bus routes were also affected by the celebrations.
