Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi heaped praise on his squad's creativity after Spurs’ significant 2-1 win over Aston Villa.

This season, Spurs have all too often lacked creativity. It has seen them tumble down the table and, as the Lilywhites fight tirelessly against relegation, it has often felt like the missing piece.

At Villa Park, De Zerbi’s side were in the driving seat from whistle to whistle, making Villa’s effort, of which there was admittedly little, futile as the Lilywhites surged forward ruthlessly time and time again.

Following Xavi Simons’ ACL injury and Dominik Solanke's withdrawal against Wolves last weekend, questions were raised about where Spurs' creative spark would come from.

Speaking after the game, De Zerbi shared his delight after such a strong showing from his squad in a significant victory on the road.

"They played an amazing game with and without the ball. Xavi Simons and [Dominic] Solanke are both top players for us, but Kolo Muani has different characteristics, but the same quality.

"You're not watching the best Kolo Muani, but he is a top player. Mathys Tel is very young, but he has amazing potential as well, and Richarlison is playing for the Brazilian national team.

"I'm lucky because we have a lot of players. Now I think the injuries are finished, otherwise it's a big problem, but I'm lucky."
