England's last group stage game is tonight (June 27), as they play Panama in the hopes of topping Group L.
After a disappointing draw to Ghana earlier this week, the Three Lions will be looking to bounce back.
They are currently first, with a superior goal difference to Ghana, but a draw or loss tonight could see England qualify in second or even an unlikely third.
Here is all to know about tonight's game and who England can play in the round of 32.
What time is the England game tonight?
England plays Panama tonight (June 27) at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The kick-off time is at 5pm local time, which is 10pm in the UK.
Croatia and Ghana will kick off at the same time to ensure full fairness.
The World Cup brought in simultaneous kick-offs for the final round of matches after the 1982 tournament.
It followed an infamous match between West Germany and Austria, where they played out a result that allowed both teams to advance, eliminating Algeria.
England injury team news
Following the game against Ghana, England have some injuries to contend with.
Reece James suffered a hamstring injury and was unable to be replaced as Tuchel had already made all five substitutions.
The right back has not travelled with the rest of the squad.
Despite his injury and the fact that his World Cup could be over, James is reported to be remaining in the camp and fighting for fitness in the hopes of making an appearance later in the tournament, should the team make it.
Elliot Anderson and Declan Rice are also being assessed.
Anderson suffered a glute injury against Ghana, but it is thought to be a dead leg and not serious.
Rice did not train fully on Thursday (June 25), but did take part in the whole session on Friday (June 26).
Who do England play in the last 32?
England is already through to the last 32 of the World Cup following recent results.
They will finish top of the group if they can match or better Ghana’s result against Croatia.
England could still play five different teams depending on how the group stages result go.
Here are the possible opponents and what needs to occur for each to happen:
- Senegal - If DR Congo draw or lose, and Croatia doesn't lose to Ghana. If DR Congo draw or lose, Croatia lose, and Group J does not get the best third place spot.
- DR Congo - If DR Congo beat Uzbekistan.
- Portugal - If England were to finish second, meaning Croatia or Ghana win and England do not
England could also play the third-place team from Group J if they get it, with Austria and Algeria playing one another.
- Algeria - If DR Congo draw or lose and Croatia lose and Group J gets a position, likely through a draw.
- Austria - If England lose by one goal, Croatia lose and DR Congo do not win.
If England finish top, their next game will be on Wednesday (July 1), in Atlanta, at 5pm UK time.
If England finish second, they will play at 12am UK time on Friday (July 3) in Toronto.
If England finish third, they will play on Saturday (July 4) in Kansas City.
Are Scotland already out of the World Cup?
Despite it looking likely, Scotland is not yet officially eliminated.
Scotland currently sit 10th in the third-place standings, with the top eight progressing.
For Scotland to qualify, the following combination of results must happen:
- Ghana must defeat Croatia by at least three goals
- Uzbekistan must win or draw against DR Congo, but if Uzbekistan wins, it must be by fewer than four goals.
- Austria must beat Algeria by two or more goals.
