Leyton Orient will discover their opponents for the first round of the Carabao Cup when the draw takes places at 7pm this Thursday.

The EFL confirmed in a statement this morning that the draw would take place on Thursday, June 20, bizarrely at the Morrisons supermarket in Colindale.

Previous venues for the draw have included far-flung destinations such as Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City, but the round one draw for the 2019/20 season will be conducted by former players John Barnes and Ray Parlour live from the store roughly three-and-a-half miles away from Wembley Stadium, where the final of the competition will be held.

While not tournament debutants like fellow promoted side Salford City, it’s a return to the competition for Orient after their two-year stint in the National League came to an end following their title win.

They join 69 other teams in the hat for the first round, which includes relegated Premier League side Huddersfield Town.

Cardiff City and Fulham will join the cup at round two along with the Premier League outfits that aren’t competing in Europe.

Fans will be able to watch the draw live in store and on the Carabao Cup Facebook page, while text updates will be provided in the EFL Twitter page and on EFL.com.
