Carl Fletcher is close to being appointed Leyton Orient manager, according to reports from the Evening Standard, with the club finalising the deal.

It was reported yesterday that the former Plymouth Argyle boss had been offered the job by the O’s, and it seems as though the deal had advanced.

The 39-year-old, who is currently employed by Premier League club Bournemouth as their loan manager, will become the permanent successor to the late Justin Edinburgh and take over from Ross Embleton, who oversaw the side in an interim capacity.

Fletcher previously held a coaching role with the Cherries’ under-23 side and featured for the south coast side as a player along with spells at West Ham, Watford, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Plymouth and Barnet.
