A project to build houses on the site of a former hospital has been put before planners.
Hanover Housing Association has submitted plans for 173 new homes on the six-acre site of the former St Luke’s Hospital in Woodside Avenue, Muswell Hill.
The plans will go before Haringey Borough Council’s planning committee later this year after a consultation process last year.
Bruce Moore, of Hanover Housing Association, said: “This will be a high quality housing development which retains the existing listed buildings and gardens and also maintains and improves the current pedestrian access through the site.”
Hanover say the plans respect the existing mature planting, listed buildings and character of the conservation area around the site and the project will include work on the garden landscape.
St Luke’s Hospital provided care for mental health patients in the 1920s and the site was sold in 2011 by the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust.
