A supermarket teamed up with a children’s author to help schoolchildren celebrate World Book Day.
Joanna Bicknell read extracts from her book ‘Mouston Abbey’ to 30 students from the St Paul’s & All Hallows School, in Worcester Avenue, at the Tottenham Sainsbury’s, in Northumberland Park Road.
Mrs Bicknell said: “I love World Book Day and it provides a great way to show children the magical world of reading.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting the children from St Paul’s and All Hallows’ School and take them on the Mouston Abbey journey”.
The event, on Thursday, March 6, was held as part of Sainsbury’s Make Believe campaign, which aims to get children excited about reading.
Sharon Easton, the school’s headteacher, said: “This is a great opportunity for our children as it will enable them to be inspired into developing their reading abilities.
“We were thrilled to hear that our school was selected to take part in this event and all the children are now really excited.”
