Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has announced the death of its official historian, Andy Porter, who died yesterday aged 54.
Mr Porter has served as the club’s historian since the 1980s.
A spokesman for the club said: “He was an important member of our team and we have lost a dear colleague and friend. He will be missed by all at White Hart Lane.
“Andy was a life-long supporter and followed the team everywhere we went, nationwide and across the world. As a result, he became a well-known figure to fellow fans on our travels and will also be greatly missed by supporters home and abroad.
“Beyond his professional endeavours on our behalf, he was also a wonderful man. We extend our condolences to his family and friends at this sad time.”
