Musicians came together to entertain people and raise money for a good cause.
Earl Haig Hall, in Elder Avenue, Crouch End, hosted the Oxjam event last Saturday to raise money for Oxfam.
Performers included the Tottenham Community Choir, the bluegrass band Banjaxed and folk act Violent Hum.
Steve Huddleston, 41, a guitarist from Hornsey, organised the event. He said: “The idea was to get other local musicians together and raise money for Oxfam. We got a really good response, and local business support has been really great. We got a lot of food and wine from a lot of local shops.
“People have been really supportive, and the feedback has been great. It’s nice to pull people together that play music. There’s a lot of talent around.”
Celia Johns, from Southwark, came to support the Tottenham community choir. She said: “It’s a fun way of raising money. The choir is very good, there’s a broad repertoire. It’s a really nice day, and it feels like a proper community here.”
