Scores of apprenticeships could be up for grabs after Haringey Borough Council announced a new employment scheme.
The Haringey 100 campaign is a drive to get employers to take on 100 apprentices in 100 working days.
At an event at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London in High Road, Tottenham, this morning, the council announced it would take on 20 apprentices to kickstart the project.
Employers who make a pledge can apply for up to £3,000 to help fund the placement and help with recruitment.
Councillor Joe Goldberg said: “London is the world’s greatest city, and it’s vital that together we do more to bring more jobs, training and work experience opportunities that support our residents in getting a foot on the job ladder.”
