A children’s hospice can put on a show whenever it wants to thanks to a donation.

The Haven House Children’s Hospice in Woodford Green has been gifted scaffold boards and sheets of plywood by the Tottenham branch of Selco Builders Merchant, in White Hart Lane, Tottenham, meaning it can build its own stage for fundraising events.

Haven House Children’s Hospice is a charity that provides specialist care for young people who have life-limiting conditions and the permanent stage will mean they no longer have to pay to hire one.

Community and events fundraiser at the hospice Kate Donaghue said: “We are extremely grateful for the materials donated by Selco as they will make a big difference to our fundraising events, which in turn will help the children and families we support.

“The fact we will no longer have to pay for the hire of the stage each time we host an event will really boost the revenue we make from events.”
