A student has had double reason to celebrate at his graduation after receiving a prestigious award.
Emmanuel Adjei, of Rheola Close, in High Road, was given a merit award for outstanding achievement after completing his degree in computer networking at University of Greenwich.
The prize was awarded at a recent graduation ceremony in Rochester Cathedral, attended by hundreds of graduates from the university’s faculty of engineering and science.
Now considering further study in the form of a Master’s degree, Mr Adjei said he is “super excited” about winning his award.
“The atmosphere at Greenwich is amazing and that is one of the best things about studying there. I didn’t expect my award but I certainly worked hard and it was a great thrill to win it.”
Professor Martin Snowden, Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of Greenwich, added: “It is a marvellous achievement to be one of our prize winners.
“There is a lot of competition among our talented students to be selected for a special award at their graduation, and I am delighted that all Emmanuel’s hard work and dedication has been richly rewarded. He fully deserves his success and I look forward to seeing him embark on a successful career.”
