Transport for London (TFL) has unveiled a revamped White Hart Lane station after undergoing a major transformation.

The new London Overground station includes step-free access from street to platform for the first time due to two new lifts that will be introduced in September. The station also makes it quicker and easier for fans to attend matches at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

A new bright and airy ticket hall is also one of the new innovations that sits at the heart of the station. It provides central and direct access to the platforms, meaning customers can move between the street and trains more quickly.

New station entrances will provide better access to the ticket hall, with one on Love Lane creating a better connection with Tottenham High Road and the second providing access via Penhurst Road for the first time.

Rory O’Neill, TfL’s general manager for London Overground, said: “The transformed White Hart Lane station is a great addition to the London Overground network and better supports and reflects the changing area it serves.”

TfL has also introduced several other measures to improve the experience for customers using the station.

This includes more visible signage within the ticket hall and increasing the number of ticket vending machines from three to four, to make buying tickets and topping up Oyster easier.

Mr O’Neill added: “Its unique design acknowledges the history of the area but provides modern day facilities, including more station capacity which will be vital on event days, step-free access and more ticket vending machines.”

Donna-Maria Cullen, executive director for Tottenham Hotspur, said: “We welcome and are delighted to see Transport for London’s investment in the station, delivering much needed improvements for the local community who use it and those visiting the new stadium.

“It supports and enhances the Club’s investment in North Tottenham and complements the wider investment in transport infrastructure for the area.

"We particularly look forward to welcoming the new lifts that are due to be in use from September, which will make White Hart Lane the latest London Overground station with step-free access, improving accessibility for all travellers on event and non-event days.”
