Businesses are being urged to provide information on how they have been hit by the outbreak of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

Enfield Council has set up an online monitoring form to gather information on the kind of support that businesses across the borough may need during the crisis.

The form asks whether firms have been affected by staffing issues, a loss in business and a reduction in footfall.

In a letter sent out to companies this week, council leader Cllr Nesil Caliskan (Labour, Jubilee) said the council “is making representation to the Government directly, and via London Councils, on behalf of Enfield businesses”.

Cllr Caliskan adds: “We are facing not just a public health crisis but an economic one. That is why together with other council Leaders, via London Councils and the London Mayor, I urge the Government to take clear steps to provide urgent aid and support to business during this difficult period.

“We will also seek to help communicate any announcement from the government that affects businesses.”

The forms can be completed here.
