Has social distancing left you feeling isolated, even in a city as big as London? If so, a new social media hashtag might be just the thing to cheer you up.
Sadiq Khan wants Londoners to share the acts of kindness, generosity and bravery that are keeping the city united during the coronavirus outbreak – and use #LondonTogether so everyone can see.
It’s a way to highlight the key workers and volunteers going the extra mile to keep the capital safe, he says – and a way to feel connected even when Londoners need to be physically apart.
The Mayor said London’s response to the outbreak shows why this is the best city in the world.
He said: “When times are rough we see the very best of our capital, and these extraordinary acts of charity and empathy show that our sense of community is not confined by walls.
“These acts of kindness can make a big difference, and if we stay home, look after one another and follow the advice of the experts, we will beat this virus in London, together.”
Here is some of what residents have been sharing so far – a sign of how people all over the city are pulling together. What could you add?
