Councillors will this evening hold a debate on the future of traffic-reduction schemes that have been rolled out in Enfield.
The Conservative group has called for low-traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs) in Bowes and Fox Lane to be removed until a full consultation shows they are supported by a majority of the public.
The Tories say they concerned the schemes have not delivered on their objectives of cutting congestion and air pollution.
Designed to stop rat-running and improve air quality, LTNs involve closing road entrances using measures such as bollards and enforcement cameras.
Supporters claim they encourage people to walk and cycle while benefitting the environment.
But some residents have raised concerns they cause congestion on surrounding roads, increasing travel times and causing access problems for emergency vehicles.
The call to remove the LTNs is on the agenda for the full council meeting this evening, which is due to be broadcast online. The meeting is due to begin at 7pm.
Details of how to watch the meeting and copies of the opposition priority business paper on LTNs are available here.
