Two working mums from Enfield have revealed it is “nerve-racking and exciting” to have launched their new business in sustainable products.

Nas Glover, 37, and Vicky Ryan, 36, set up Organised Chaos at the end of last year – which offers a range of eco-friendly items such as bags, jewellery and stationery.

The ambitious pair have been friends for years, with Vicky being married to Nas's cousin, and their business blossomed after first starting a wholesale account selling packing cubes in December.

They then registered their company the same month, launched an Instagram account in January and created a website weeks later.

Mother-of-two Nas said: “We wanted to be eco-friendly and sustainable – these things are so key for everybody now – so we are very mindful of what we stock.”

They both work full time, but when it comes to running Organised Chaos Nas handles the business and legal side, having a background in law, while Vicky deals with the HR element.

Nas said that after five months the business is “going strong”, having now overcome a slight hiccup as lockdown began to ease.

“Sales were really good until shops opened again after lockdown, because everyone missed shopping so much, but now it’s starting to even out again,” she said.

Organised Chaos is predominantly an online shop but Nas and Vicky aspire to eventually get its products into boutique-type stores.

They are also currently trialing a pop-up shop for two weeks in Wheathamstead.

Among numerous items they sell is jewellery that is focused on mental health and carry affirmations such as ‘I am strong’.

Nassim said they were only able to launch the venture because of the pandemic as it gave them time to think rather than commute.

She added: “We have done everything ourselves, we’re both very driven – starting this has been nerve-racking and exciting at the same time.”
