A man has been charged over the alleged murder of his mother in Enfield.
At approximately 2.15am on Sunday (January 30) officers attended a residential address in Stainton Road, Enfield, following concerns for the welfare of an elderly woman.
Officers found the 84-year-old suffering from a number of injuries.
She was pronounced dead a short time later.
Gareth Jackson, 50, of Stainton Road in Enfield, was charged in the early hours of today (Monday).
He is due to appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on January 31.
Family have given permission for officers to name the woman as Lesma Jackson. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
A 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and later charged.
