A FOOTBALL club has issued travel advice to fans ahead of today’s match - which clashes with rail strikes.

Passengers will face severe disruption as members of the RMT and Network Rail take part in another day of industrial action in an ongoing dispute over pay.

Brighton and Hove Albion said there will be no trains to Falmer Station for the Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur at the Amex.

A spokesman said the usual travel scheme will be in operation, where supporters can use public transport within the travel zone on producing their match ticket.

Supporters have been asked to plan their journey “carefully”.

How you can travel to the Amex:

  • The club will run a bus shuttle service from Brighton city centre and Lewes Station. Brighton shuttle service will depart from Old Steine (bus stop F) three hours before kick-off. Supporters can also use bus number 25, 28, 29 from this stop to Falmer
  • Post-match pick up from Falmer station A27 bus stop, Lewes shuttle service will depart from the Lewes train station three hours before kick-off. Post-match pick up from the A27 eastbound bus stop
  • Park and Ride: There will be park and ride at Mill Road (BN1 8ZF) and Brighton Racecourse (BN2 9XZ). Pyecombe Equestrian Centre is sold out. All sites will be open from 2.30pm, and supporters are advised to arrive early as parking spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis at Mill Road and the racecourse. The last park and ride bus leaves the stadium 1.5 hours after the final whistle and the sites close shortly afterwards
  • Buses: Brighton and Hove Buses and Stagecoach, will operate a normal Saturday service across the club’s travel zone. Seagull Travel is running extended services for this match, and to book a seat on a coach check its website
  • Coaches: Any groups wishing to come to the match via a coach or minibus must book a parking space via supporter.services@brightonandhovealbion.com
  • Roads are expected to be busy so people have been advised to leave extra time for their journey. There are also roadworks taking place at Coldean Lane
  • Parking: There are limited spaces available at Sussex University (Car Park C) and the Bridge (Car Park B) for supporters to purchase off the club’s website. The club has warned that will be no cash sales on the day at any parking locations. All vehicles accredited to park at the car park C must enter via Stanmer Park, as there will be no entry at Falmer or Knights Gate.
  • Sussex University (Car Park C) is a short walk through the underpass to the Amex stadium The club has warned that post-match departure will be busy because of the additional use of further car parks on the university campus
  • Drop-off and pick-up point: There are no pick-up or drop-off points along Village Way or on Woollards Way (the entrance to the Bridge Car Park B). Supporters are advised to use the club’s official drop-off and pick-up point located at University of Sussex in Car Park 5, located by the sports hall.

Alternatively, people can drop-off at the Old Steine (bus stop F) or Lewes railway station and utilise the extra shuttle service provided.

Supporters have been warned there is no local street parking available for football supporters, as all areas close to the Amex have a residents parking scheme in operation, and enforcement officers will be on patrol.

Village Way will be “extremely busy and congested”, and supporters are advised to avoid this area both pre- and post-match, unless they have pre-booked parking.
