THE new chief executive of Whittington Hospital will take up his post next month.

Camden Primary Care Trust (PCT) chief executive Rob Larkman will start his new job on September 14.

  Prior to working for Camden PCT, Mr Larkman was chief executive of Camden and Islington Community Health Services NHS Trust.

In addition to his 11 years as a chief executive, he worked in advertising and management consultancy before joining the NHS in 1993.

Mr Larkman said: “Having worked in the area for many years, I know that the Whittington is an excellent organisation with terrific staff and is held in high regard by the patients and local community it serves.

"I look forward to taking it to the next stage of its successful development."

Joe Liddane, chairman of Whittington Hospital, said: “I am delighted to have appointed Rob. "He brings key strengths to the leadership here at the Whittington, which will ensure we are in a strong position in the future, building on our reputation as the hospital of choice for local people.

"Rob is a great NHS leader, who is an excellent appointment to take us through to our next phase of development."
