Tottenham Hotspur may be set to bid for Lazio’s highly rated midfielder Ogenyi Onazi, according to the Metro.
The paper says that the 21-year-old will be leaving Lazio in the summer, with the Serie A club resigned to losing him.
Onazi, who plays as a box-to-box midfielder, has made 24 league appearances this season and has been with Lazio since he joined in 2011.
However Tottenham may face competition from a host of clubs including Liverpool, who will be able to offer Champions League football next season.
With the player currently valued at £8m, Lazio must be hoping that the transfer rivalry between the two clubs may spark a bidding war that sees Onazi’s value rise.
