Queens Park Rangers owner Tony Fernandes appears to have quashed a potential swap deal with Tottenham Hotspur for Andros Townsend and Loic Remy.
According to the Evening Standard, the Loftus Road club are keen to hold onto the 27-year-old France international after his proposed £8.5m move to Liverpool last month fell through.
When asked about the possibility of the French striker leaving Loftus Road, R's owner Tony Fernandes was quick to deny talk of a move away from the West London club.
Fernandes said: “Nothing is ever cast in stone in football but I am moderately optimistic Remy will be wearing the shirt this season.”
Spurs are intent on strengthening their attack and were hoping to tempt the Hoops to sell Remy by offering out-of-favour winger Townsend in part-exchange.
Remy scored 14 league goals last season as he spent the campaign on loan at Newcastle United and has also attracted interest from Arsenal.
