Haringey Borough battled to a 2-1 home win over bottom side Sporting Bengal United in the Essex Premier Division on Tuesday night.
The victory briefly sent the side to the top of the table before Barking reclaimed first place 24 hours later.
Boro opened the scoring in the 25th minute from a cross shot by Saleem Masri.
The hosts extended their lead through Masri before United pulled one back to set up a tense last ten minutes.
Haringey are three points behind Barking but have three games in hand.
