Tottenham Hotspur's hopes of signing Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama are reportedly over after the Saints blocked any approach for the Kenyan.
Wanyama, 24, is a known target for former Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino and head coach Ronald Koeman confirmed after his side's 3-0 win over Norwich City on Saturday he had been left out because he was not mentally right.
Reports have also emerged suggesting the former Celtic enforcer has gone on strike at St Mary's in order to force through a reunion with Pochettino at White Hart Lane.
However, the Daily Mail claim the ball-winning midfielder will not be allowed to join Spurs as the relationship between the two clubs is at an all-time low.
That is largely because of Pochettino's move in 2014 and subsequent attempts to sign Toby Alderweireld, Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez.
