Tottenham Hotspur winger Son Heung-min is expected to be sidelined “for a number of weeks” as he undergoes surgery on a fractured arm.
The South Korean sustained the injury in Spurs’ 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, in which Son scored a stoppage-time winner to seal all three points.
Following the surgery, Spurs medical staff will review different management options for the player’s rehabilitation.
Son has been filling in as Spurs’ main striker during the absence of Harry Kane, who is expected to be out until at least April.
Therefore, it’s likely that Lucas Moura will start up front for Spurs in their Champions League round of 16 clash against RB Leipzig tomorrow night.
